Principal Scientist, Antibody Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Structural Analysis & Project Evaluation: Possess in-depth knowledge of antibody structure and function, with particular experience in heavy-chain-only antibodies/nanobodies. Responsible for antibody sequence analysis and structural interpretation. Lead target-based structural background investigations, molecular mechanism studies, and early-stage technical feasibility assessments for antibody engineering projects.
  • Antibody Engineering and Optimization: Lead antibody engineering and structure‑based rational design to achieve affinity maturation, improved physicochemical properties, enhanced developability/druggability, and introduction of specialized features such as pH‑dependent binding. Proficient in leveraging cuttingedge AI tools to optimize engineering workflows, significantly enhancing design efficiency, throughput, and accuracy.
  • Technology Platform Development and Advancement: Spearhead the establishment, expansion, and continuous iteration of core technology platforms for antibody engineering and computational structure-based design. Monitor and adopt industry-leading computational and AI-assisted macromolecule design/optimization technologies to empower the team and boost overall R&D capabilities and productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Computational Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of antibody sequence characteristics and structural mechanisms (especially nanobody). Familiarity with the early‑stage R&D workflow of innovative biologics. Proven hands‑on experience in structural analysis, antibody engineering, including but not limited to humanization, affinity maturation, thermostability/hydrophobicity and developability optimization.
  • Highly proficient in using mainstream structural biology software and cutting-edge AI-based prediction tools for macromolecular sequence analysis, structure modeling, molecular simulation, and rational design.
  • Experience with the construction and screening of in vitro display technologies such as Phage Display, or familiarity with affinity characterization techniques such as SPR/BLI would be a strong plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Self-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proficient in applying AI tools in daily works
